Veteran Journalist, Okim’s Double First Class Law Graduate, Called To Bar

Ms. Ikanna Okim, the most outstanding graduate in Law from the University of Uyo, has been called to the Nigerian Bar.

Okim was among 4710 other graduates of the Nigerian Law School who have been called to the Bar in continuation of the event which commenced yesterday in Abuja.

The two-day Call to Bar ceremony was presided over by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Chairman of the Body of Benchers (BoB).

Ikanna is daughter of Amb. Sunny Okim, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of The Frontier online newspaper.

The 24-year-old law graduate it will be recalled, last year broke a 36-year jinx at the University of Uyo, a federal university, when she bagged First Class from the university’s Law Faculty. She was thus the very first student to achieve that feat after 36 years of establishment of the Faculty.

In the just concluded 2021/2022 session, the Akwa Ibom State-born law graduate, also bagged a First Class after completion of her one year Legal Studies at the Nigerian Law School, thus making her a double First Class graduate in Law.
