One Week After Death Oba Otudeko Supervises Arisekola’s Will …Late Philanthropist To Be Immortalized
The dream of every man is to live with the hope of becoming a memory in the hearts of those he or she leaves behind. Today, the Aare Musulumi of Nigeria, Abdul Azeez Alao Arisekola is no more, but his memories will still hang in the minds of the living for a very long time to come because of what he was able to achieve while alive.
After the death of the Ibadan based business mogul, speculations were rife that he indeed knew he was going to die; hence he distributed his legacy to his children and family members. Though this assertion remains a conjecture, barely a week after his demise, his will was read.
The reading of the will took place at the Oyo State High Court, Ring-Road, Ibadan last Thursday with many of his children and family members in attendance.
The eldest daughter of Lister Motors boss, Fatimo Aare was the first to be called in by the lawyer who had a private conversation with her before the other children lined up one after the other.
Until now, many people do not know how close immensely rich Oba Otudeko was to the late Arisekola not until when he surfaced as the executor of the will. Though, some of the family members know about their friendship that has spanned many years but because most people couldn’t add them together brought about the surprise.
Although it was done in privacy, many people who were there were looking out for the countenance of the children when they walked out of the private meeting with the lawyer to give a clue to what transpired inside. But, none betrayed his or her emotion as the facial expression was indifferent.
However, we gathered that a certain woman’s name was, however, struck out of the list, but she was not present in the court.
At the commencement of the short meeting which preceded the calling of the children’s names, an official from the Chief Registrar’s office made it known to family members that members of the State Security Service (SSS) and the press were in the court premises but that he had informed them that the exercise was strictly private.
One thing that was clearly visible is the fact that the children were happy with one another with the outcome of the reading of their late father’s will. This is because a close source had hinted that what the man worked for all his life is enough to go round his immediate and extended family without need for any rancour.
Global Excellence further gathered from our dependable source that one of the things Arisekola requested from the will which he has also relayed to his family on his sick bed is that a foundation should be put in place to immortalize him. He also requested that those he helped on a daily basis should still be encouraged to come to the house for usual support.
