Lagos Assembly passes education varsity bill • AOCOED, MOCPED now Lagos State University of Education

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday passed the Lagos State University of Education Bill.

Special Adviser on Education, Mr Tokunho Wahab, confirmed the passage of the bill saying “the bill was awaiting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s assent”
He said further that the University would operate two campuses in Ijanikin, where the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) is, and Norforija, Epe, which hosts the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED).
He said the next step is to seek a licence from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
He said: “The Lagos State University of Education Bill was passed today.
“It will be a Multicampus – in Ijanikin and Norforija.
“Both colleges are now a university of education.
“We will take the law and the other documents to NUC to have our recognition
