Dabiri-Erewa Congratulates 2 Nigerians For Winning Councillorship Seats In Canada
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru and Ayo Owodunni for winning their respective elections as counsellors in Canada.
She made this known in a statement signed by the Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, NiDCOM, Abuja, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
Ayo Owodunni was elected City Counsellor in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada while Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru got elected as Counsellor Ingersoll of Ontario County, Canada.
Dabiri-Erewa described their newest positions as a “demonstration of dedication, honesty, determination and competence,” which many Nigerians are noted for, especially in the Diaspora.
“This win is a collective one for Nigerians, home and abroad, and we are proud of you,” she said.
She noted the record-breaking recognition of Owodunni as “ the first black city councilor in the area to be so elected.
