Security apparatus in Ifako Ijaiye local government council has been advised to imbibe professional standards in discharging their duties as security personnels in the area in other to build good relationship and trust from the community members.
During a stakeholders community policing meeting held by the community safety partnership CSP Iju, Police Community Relations PCRC Committee and supported by Nigerian Policing Programme NPP in conjunction with Ifako Ijaiye Local Government council. The speakers admonished the security personnels to work together for the important role of safeguarding the communities.
In his speech the DPO of Red House police station, represented by Johnson Egbert said that the reason for the gathering is to discuss with the community members on the issues concerning security of their communities.
“ The reason of the gathering is to to have a discussion with community members on how they feel about the security personnels and how they do their work of policing”
“Since the inception of community policing in Lagos the police has been trying to make sure it works and we have seen the benefits to our community here.
We employ the help of our sister agencies, the civil defense, VIO and others who are working together with the police to keep the communities safe. “ he said
Also speaking, Odunayo Akinse from British High commission, said that US government recognizes that security is very important in Nigeria.
“US government recognizing that security is very important in Nigeria, we encourage that everyone stays committee in making sure that there is adequate security in our communities” She said
