In Nigeria today, homosexuality has become a criminal offence that is punishable under the law as gays and lesbians in the country risk being jailed for 14 years if the unholy act is discovered by the law.
Since the signing of this new law by the Nigerian parliament, not a few people have been arrested while some are still living in the shadow of their act believing the long arm of the law will overlook them; not to talk about those who have gone to the great beyond courtesy of jungle justice meted out to them by people who vehemently oppose the act.
One of the people who have for some time escaped from being killed or being arraign is one Adeoye Akeredolu who has disappeared into thin air for some time now.
The young man who was fingered by two of his ‘playmates’ ( Tunde Ariyo(30), Femi Ojelabi(32)) was lucky to have escaped lynching when news filtered into the neighbourhood about his unholy liaison with his gay partners. The neighbours who loath this unholy association invited the police to apprehend them in order to teach him and his partners a lesson they’ll never forget.
According to what we gathered, the police on a tipoff stormed a hotel where the homosexuals were and instantly arrested two of them. The others who were in a different room took to their heels before the law could lay its hand on them.
Interestingly, we scooped that it was at the police station the two arrested suspects revealed that they have a group who are involved in the outlawed act and that Adeoye Akeredolu is their kingpin.
It was then the manhunt for Adeoye and three others namely Ricky Oro, Olajide Ojo, Shola Richard have commenced, but, they escaped and ever since nothing has been heard about the suspects including their leader again.
Surprisingly, Adeoye’s people are apprehensive that his life may be in grave danger should he be apprehend. This we gathered is because he lived a normal life with wife and children but also swings between both sexes, which the society he lives in frown at.
