Your deployment is obedience to national integration, development — Gov Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has stated that deployment for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is an obedience to the clarion call to contribute to national integration and development.

Governor Adeleke also said that the aim of the NYSC is to repair, rebuild, and reconstruct a nation threatened by forces of division.

Adeleke stated this during the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream II orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, on Friday.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, Governor Adeleke reminded the corps members that they play a vital role in nation-building.

In his words, “As corps members, you play a vital role in nation-building, and by taking these pledges, you affirm your dedication to the service of Nigeria.”

“I urge you to take these pledges seriously as you embark on your service year.”

While assuring that the state government remains steadfast in ensuring the security and welfare of corps members, Adeleke disclosed that measures have been put in place to safeguard their well-being.

“We urge you to avail yourselves of the support system provided, as we are committed to providing a safe and conducive environment for your personal and professional development.”

He encouraged the corps members to approach the program with dedication and enthusiasm, leveraging the various training platforms provided to become a better version of themselves.

In his introductory address, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, revealed that a total of 1,926 corps members, comprising 792 males and 1,134 females, deployed to the state and dislodged from Lagos State, have been registered so far.

Agbor assured the corps members that embracing the orientation course is an investment in personal and national growth.

The high point of the event was the swearing-in of the corps members carried out by the representative of the Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Mohammed Adebayo Lasisi.
