We’ll get him soon: Nigeria’s Defence Chief vows to capture bandit leader, Bello Turji

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, has vowed to capture notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji.

Musa made the vow while addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

Lately, Turji has been in the news for allegedly seizing two mine resistant vehicles belonging to the Nigerian Army.

But the military had dismissed Turji’s claim, saying that the vehicles were demobilized due to bad terrain.

Despite the military’s declaration, Turji had imposed a N30 million levy on the residents of Zamfara State as compensation for the killing of his vows by soldiers.

Thee Service Chief assured that the issue of levy Turji placed on residents would be addressed when he’s captured.

According to Musa, the notorious bandit leader is deranged.

Musa said: “On the issue of Turji, he is just a deranged individual who feels power, but I can bet you that it’s just a matter of time.

“It is a matter of time; we’re going to get him, and I can assure you that it will be within the shortest possible time.

“We’re going to address that issue on the issue of payment of levy (to bandits). That is what they live on. And it shows you the desperation they are in.

“One, even when they get the money, they don’t have a way to use it. Two is that the money they’re getting, they know, is blood money.”
