Scotland: Rangers boss rues Dessers’ missed chance in defeat to Celtic

Rangers manager, Philippe Clement has tasked Cyriel Dessers to be more clinical in front of goal, DAILY POST reports.

The Gers were thrashed 3-0 by rivals, Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Sunday.

Dessers missed a glorious chance to give Rangers the lead early in the game.

The visitors were left to rue the opportunity with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic netting thrice afterwards.
“We started the game really well, we had the best of the ball in the first ten minutes, got two really good opportunities, with Cyriel coming free in front of goal and with Rabbi’s free header there,” Clement said in his post-match press conference.

“So you need to be clinical in those games, and to come in front it changes the momentum. It would have helped the team a lot to go in front there.”

Dessers has scored five goals and registered one assist in seven outings across all competitions for the Light Blue this season.
