Protesters reportedly attack NASS members’ houses in Yobe, Jigawa

In the wake of the #Endbadgovernance protest across Nigeria, some protesters have allegedly attacked properties owned by political leaders in the northern part of the country.

Viral videos seen via X on Tuesday showed some youths burning a mansion allegedly belonging to a serving House of Representatives member, Nazifi Sani Gumel, representing Gumel/Maigatari/Sule Tankarkar/Gagarawa Federal Constituency of Jigawa State.

The protesting youths accused the lawmaker of neglecting their constituency after his election 14 months ago during the last general elections.

In a related development, a set of angry youths, who are protesting against hunger and bad governance in Yobe State, attacked the residence of a serving senator, accusing him of siphoning public funds meant for the development of his constituency.

DAILY POST recalls that unknown people masquerading as protesters on the first day of the protest attacked and looted new computers and laptops from the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Industrial Park in Kano.
