The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced strategic initiatives to boost Nigeria’s economy and create jobs in the power sector.

The disco said this will be achieved through a robust recruitment strategy, and a diverse, inclusive, and multi-talented workforce.

Accordingly, the initiative is part of the disco’s continuous efforts to cultivate a world-class team dedicated to achieving operational excellence and fostering innovation, ultimately contributing to Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Commenting, Ojelabi said, “At AEDC, we believe that investing in human capital is essential for driving sustainable growth and development in Nigeria.

“By attracting and retaining top talent, we are not only strengthening our internal capabilities but also contributing to the creation of a highly skilled workforce that can drive innovation and progress in the power sector and beyond.”

The development comes with the rise in the unemployment rate in Nigeria.

The National Bureau of Statistics said Nigeria’s unemployment rate increased to 5 percent in the third quarter of 2023 from 4.2 percent.
